George Dewey Conrad was born on April 13, 1898 in Orange, Franklin County, Massachusetts, USA. He was the son of John W. Conrad and Sarah Lynch Conrad. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 24, 1918 in France at the age of 20 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. He also has a cenotaph in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts, USA.
