Raymond Joseph Burns was born on November 16, 1895 in Brooklyn, Kings County (Brooklyn), New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company C, 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on May 28, 1918 in Tour Sector, France at the age of 22 and is now buried in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA.
