Frank Ervin Brown, Jr. was born in December 1888 in La Conner, Skagit County, Washington. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company D, 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 22, 1918 in France at the age of 29 and is now buried in Sun Rise Cemetery, Wasco, Sherman County, Oregon, USA. The Sherman County American Legion post is named in his honor.
