Oscar D. Blanchette was born on August 2, 1894. He was the son of Philias Blanchette and Caroline Blanchette. He entered the military service in Massachusetts and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on April 13, 1918 at the age of 23 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA.
