Frank C. Whiteman was born on August 20, 1896 in Tilton, Belknap County, New Hampshire. He was the son of Frank C. and Emily M. (Aldrich) Whiteman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was killed in the Aisne-Marne offensive in France on July 12, 1918 at the age of 21 and is now buried in Park Cemetery, Tilton, Belknap County, New Hampshire, USA.
