Ernest R. Ward was born in 1895. He was the son of Bertram Sidney Ward and Grace R. Townsend Ward. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 20, 1918 in Chateau-Thierry, France and is now buried in Pleasant View Cemetery, Morrisville, Lamoille County, Vermont, USA.
