Amos E. Walker was born in Douglas county, Missouri. Feb 23 1896. He was a farmer before he was drafted on June 5 1917, and was sent with the first draft contingent from his county in September, to Camp Taylor. From there he was sent to Camp Shelby, and transferred to Camp Merritt, and was sent overseas in May 1918. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1918 and is now buried in Eberhard Cemetery, Columbia City, Whitley County, Indiana, USA.
