William H. Thibodeau was born on March 23, 1899. He was the son of Tellis F. Thibodeau and Nellie (Canwell) Thibodeau. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in Company D, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on May 10, 1918 at the age of 19 and is now buried in Norway Pine Grove Cemetery, Paris, Oxford County, Maine, USA. His name is commemorated on the Belleau Church tablet in France but his surname is inscribed as Thibadeau.
