Robert Templeton Shepardson was born on August 28, 1888 in Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts. He was the son of William S. Shepardson and Ella Frances Templeton Shepardson. He entered the military service in Vermont and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on October 26, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Pleasant View Cemetery, Jamaica, Windham County, Vermont, USA.
