Earl Lee Severance was born on June 2, 1896 in Carroll, Penobscot County, Maine. He was the son of George Edward Severance and Flora L. Chubbuck Severance. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company I, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on June 16, 1918 at the age of 22 and is now buried in Lindsay Cemetery, Carroll, Penobscot County, Maine, USA. He served overseas from Sept 27, 1917 until his death.
