Charles H. Savage was born in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was an electrician and a machinist before enlisting. He was formerly in Company A, Eighth Massachusetts, and served at the Mexican border. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 in France but his current burial place is unknown. His photo is from Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom World War Memorial Plaques.
