Theodore H. Rhomberg was born in April 1895 in Peru Township, Dubuque County, Iowa. He was the son of Theodore Rhomberg and Victoria J. Ney Kunst. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on September 12, 1918 in France at the age of 23 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France.
