Raymond Poore enlisted in Company I, in the old Seventh California National Guard, at the opening of the war. he was in training at Camp Kearny as a member of this same company, a part of the 160th Infantry. He was made a Corporal. He was transferred to a replacement division, and had been in France early in July 1917. He was Killed in Action on October 23, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
