Oliver J. Lacasse was born on September 15, 1897 in Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Napoleon "Paul" and Amanda (Derochers) Lacasse. The family immigrated about 1907 to the United States. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He departed New York City on 27 Sep 1917 aboard the ship Celtie to Europe but was Killed in Action July 20, 1918 in France.
