Albert Davis Holbrook was born on January 26, 1896. He was the son of Frederick Hartshorn Holbrook and Ceretha C. Simonton Holbrook. He entered the military service in Maine and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Second Lieutenant in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was captured 6 Jun 1918 and died in captivity. He is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Seaview Cemetery, Rockland, Knox County, Maine, USA.
