Perley F. Greaves entered the military service in Vermont. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 20, 1918 and is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France. A memorial stone is erected in Perley's home town cemetery: Walden Height Cemetery, Walden Calendonia Co., Vermont.
