Harry Wallace Fassnacht was born on December 11, 1891 in Raymond, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He was the son of Johann Paul Fassnacht and Ida Schoch Fassnacht. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on June 17, 1918 in France at the age of 26 and is now buried in Greenwood Cemetery, York, York County, Nebraska, USA.
