Bert W. Dean was born on July 7, 1895. He was the son of John Dean and Alfreda L. Dean. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company F, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 17, 1918 at the age of 23 and is now buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, Piscataquis County, Maine, USA.
