Lester W. Chase was born on June 10, 1896 in Derry, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He was the son of Fred E. Chase and Allettie M. Young Chase. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company K, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on May 25, 1918 in France at the age of 21 and is now buried in Pleasant View Cemetery, Londonderry, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA.
