Pvt. Edward Michael Baker enlisted in the Army on 19 June 1916 with Company I, 1st Vermont Infantry. His unit entered into Federal Service on 3 April 1917. His unit became Company E, 103rd Infantry Regiment. His service in France was from 25 September 1917 until his death on 28 February 1918. He died of illness during the precombat training period in France.His remains were returned Stateside and he was interred in St. Michael's Cemetery, Brattleboro, Vermont. His parents were interred in this same cemetery in 1941 and 1958.
