Leroy A. Allen was born on December 19, 1895 in Bridgton, Cumberland County, Maine. He was the son of James Buchannan Allen and Georgia Adelia Nevers Allen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 20, 1918 at the age of 22 and is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France.
