Benedyk Wicha was born in 1894 in Poland. He entered the military service in Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is also commemorated on a War Memorial in Canton, CT.
