Carl A. Thoemmes was the son of John and Anna. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on November 2, 1918 and is now buried in Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA.
