Horace Joseph Tanguay was born on July 23, 1890 in Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. He enlisted in the Army on June 7, 1917. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Mechanic in Company I, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 24, 1918 in France at the age of 28 and is now buried in Old St Patrick's (Thompsonville) Cemetery, Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
