James Francis Strange was born on January 1, 1891 in Manchester, Hartford County, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company C, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on February 7, 1918 in France at the age of 27 and is now buried in Saint James Cemetery, Manchester, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
