William Lawrence Shea was born on January 7, 1899 in Manchester, Hartford County, Connecticut. he served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company F, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on October 23, 1918 in France at the age of 19 and is now buried in Saint Bridget's Cemetery, Manchester, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
