James J. Shea was born in March 1899 in Willimantic, Windham County, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in Company L, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 in France at the age of 19 and is now buried in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Willimantic, Windham County, Connecticut, USA.
