Alva Addison Robbins was born on June 18, 1893 in Vevay, Switzerland County, Indiana. He was the son of James Oliver Robbins and Charlotte Isabel Glenn Robbins. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 23, 1918 in Picardie, France at the age of 25 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France.
