Joseph Victor Pratt was born on March 11, 1893 in Stillwater, Washington County, Minnesota. He entered the military service in Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Mechanic in Company D, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on April 20, 1918 in France at the age of 25 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France.
