Domenick Poinelli was born in 1896 in Italy. He entered the military service in Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action but declared "Missing" on October 25, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
