Edwin Freeman “Eddie” Nickerson was born on September 25, 1894 in Chatham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Henry B. Nickerson and Almena Nickerson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company L, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 in France at the age of 23 and is now buried in Seaside Cemetery, Chatham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA.
