Harold L. Moriarty was from Willimantic, Connecticut. He served as a First Sergeant in the 1st Regiment Connecticut National Guard; Company L, 102nd Infantry. He was wounded in action on Oct. 24, 1918, when he was shot in the arm. He went briefly to an aid station and then returned to duty and was then Killed In Action in the Argonner Forest in the Bois d’Ormont, shot through the head.
