James Arthur Moore was born on November 6, 1892 in New Milford, Litchfield County, Connecticut. He enlisted in the Army in July 1917 at Hartford. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company M, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 in France at the age of 25 and is now buried in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk, Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA.
