Fay S. McBee was born on July 8, 1898 in Madison, St. Francis County, Arkansas. he served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was declared "Missing in Action" on July 23, 1918 at the age of 20 and is commemorated on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France.
