Michael Makaravesch was born in 1893 in Russia. He entered the military service in Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company C, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on May 29, 1918 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Zion Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
