Morris Lappe was born in 1900 in New Britain, Hartford County, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on October 28, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He also has a memorial located in Old Willimantic Cemetery, Willimantic, Windham County, Connecticut, USA.
