Arthur E. Johnson was born on October 23, 1889 in Point Arena, Mendocino County, California. He was the son of Gabriel Johnson and Ida Margaret Johanon Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company G, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on October 29, 1918 in France at the age of 29 and is now buried in San Francisco National Cemetery, San Francisco, San Francisco County, California, USA.
