Thomas Duplex Holmes was born on April 19, 1891 in England. He entered the military service in Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on October 26, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
