Victor John Hirsch was born on January 7, 1898 in Medford, Taylor County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Max Hirsch and Frances E. Kraemer Hirsch. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on October 13, 1918 in France at the age of 20 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
