Fred N. Harbo was born in 1899 in Brooklyn, Kings County (Brooklyn), New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Mechanic in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on March 31, 1918 and is now buried in Suresnes American Cemetery, Suresnes, France.
