Elbert D. Hail was born on January 8, 1899. He was the son of Elbert D. Hail and Martha Catherine Roark Hail. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on November 5, 1918 and is now buried in Wesleys Chapel Cemetery, Meece, Pulaski County, Kentucky, USA.
