Fred J.J. Gershefski was born in 1899 in Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 16, 1918 and is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France.
