Samuel Fierberg was born on October 30, 1900 in Portland, Middlesex County, Connecticut. He was the son of Louis Fierberg and Yetta Fierberg. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on April 20, 1918 in France at the age of 17 and is now buried in Zion Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
