Charles Francis Coughlin was born on May 16, 1891 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on October 27, 1918 in France at the age of 27 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
