Adolph Cornell was born on September 25, 1895 in Wilcox, Elk County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of P. J. O. Cornell and P. J. O. Cornell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on June 19, 1918 in France at the age of 22 and is now buried in East Cemetery, Manchester, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
