When Clifford Walter Cahill was born on January 19, 1896, in Hartford, Connecticut, his father, Dr., was 29 and his mother, Katherine, was 29. He had two brothers and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company A, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 23, 1918 in France at the age of 22 and is now buried in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
