Guy H. Burks was born in 1894. Burks left with a Clark county contingent on April 1 for Camp Sherman, where he received his preliminary training. About June 1, he started overseas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died from his wounds received in battle in 1918 and is now buried in Vale Cemetery, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, USA.
