Arthur Bitting was born in January 1897 in Nebraska. He was the son of Ida Bell Morris Bitting. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on, September 26, 1918 in France at the age of 21 and is now buried in Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska, USA.
