Ernest Gerald Anderson was born on March 31, 1896 in Willimantic, Windham County, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on March 30, 1918 in France at the age of 21 and is now buried in East Cemetery, Manchester, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. His name is also commemorated on the World War I monument in Manchester, Ct in front of Manchester Hospital Haynes.
