Joseph Worthy was born on September 26, 1891. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company M, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was killed along with three other Lowell men during the Second Battle of the Marne in Vaux, France on July 15, 1918. He is now buried in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA.
